PHASE I — GETTING A HANDLE ON THE MANAGER’S ROLE

STEP 1: Your Role In Managing the Process

  • Examine the work processes to take the organization to new levels of excellence.
  • Explore what opportunities are present to further the pursuit of excellence.
  • Move beyond current levels of productivity by setting new goals.
STEP 2: Team Building
  • Explore how to work with team members as a collective unit to maximize high performance.
STEP 3: Your Role in Employee Motivation
  • Explore what motivates people to succeed and your role in shaping an environment conduce to motivation.
STEP 4: Your Role in Managing Change
  • How to anticipate and drive change.
  • Addresses what all of us experience in change and what you can do to support people through change.
STEP 5: Your Role in Managing Individual Performance
  • Difference between coaching and counseling.
  • Communicate and manage conditions of employment and to implement policy effectively.


PHASE II — COMMUNICATION SKILLS THAT LEAD TO EFFECTIVE COACHING

STEP 6: Your Role As An Active Listener

  • Managers often spend more time talking to employees rather than listening.  This skill building module teaches managers active listening skills as a primary function of good coaching.
STEP 7: Communication and Work Styles
  • Explores the differences in work styles and the diversity in personality and perspectives of employees. 
  • Framework to manage communication with individuals according to their style.


PHASE III—KEYS TO EFFECTIVE COACHING, COUNSELING AND PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

STEP 8: Your Role In Coaching, Counselling and the Performance Management Process

  • Learn and be able to practice an effective coaching model 
  • Counsel and manage people back to acceptable levels of performance, or to terminate them with appropriate action
  • Work jointly with employees in creating a clear understanding of performance expectations. A skill-building exercise in not only writing clear performance plans but in knowing and being able to articulate the criteria for specific levels of evaluation.


PHASE IV— GETTING ORGANIZED FOR SUCCESS
STEP 9: Prioritize – Getting A Hold of the Job
  • Explore tips and techniques for effective time management.
  • Encourages managers to think in terms of time priorities.
STEP 10: The Manager’s Checklist
  • Brings all of the teaching together in a format to help managers put together a comprehensive 90-day action plan based on what they explored.

Cancellations are valid only in writing. Full refunds applicable if written notice is received at least 2 weeks before each program. A 25% cancellation fee will be levied for cancellations received less than 2 weeks before the program. No refunds after commencement of seminar. Substitutions are allowed.
